SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Sustainable mobility improves the quality of life at the university, and supports a healthy lifestyle for members of the academic community, which is why UWB strives to be a leader in the field of sustainable mobility<\/strong>, and to inspire the city, region, businesses, and citizens to adopt a responsible approach.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Sustainable business travel<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

UWB prefers public transport with a lower environmental footprint, such as rail transport. It supports shared mobility through a ride-sharing platform among employees, and dedicated parking spaces for shared cars. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

Sustainable everyday transport<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The university encourages employees to use public transport, alternative vehicles, and micromobility (bicycles, e-bikes, scooters). It provides infrastructure, such as charging stations, parking spaces for environmentally friendly vehicles, and facilities for employees (changing rooms, showers). <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

Sustainable mobility research<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

UWB focuses on the development of public transport, autonomous systems, shared mobility, and micromobility in Pilsen and its surroundings. It co-operates with the city of Pilsen, and the Pilsen and Karlovy Vary regions on technical, economic, and social aspects of mobility. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Development of alternative drives<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The university is testing and introducing vehicles with alternative drives (electric, hybrid, gas, hydrogen) into its operations. It is building charging stations connected to its own electricity production from renewable sources, such as photovoltaics. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Mobility education<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The topic of sustainable mobility is part of educational programmes across technical, humanities, and arts disciplines. Students engage in practical projects and interdisciplinary activities, such as lectures and workshops focused on sustainability. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n
