Specific aims:
Greenery expansion and care
UWB is increasing the proportion of green areas around its buildings, and sustainably cares for existing greenery. It minimizes the use of chemicals, and supports biodiversity and campus aesthetics, thereby contributing to a pleasant environment for employees and students alike.
Participation in sustainability
The university engages students, staff, and external partners in discussions about sustainability, encouraging the sharing of ideas, identifying problems, and finding innovative solutions.
Environmental design
UWB applies the principles of environmental design in construction, renovation, and process planning. It follows trends in this area, and implements them in its development.
Environmental justice in education and research
The university is raising awareness of environmental inequalities, and seeks strategies to address them. Research focuses on technologies and tools that can be used in both public policies and the private sector.
Multidisciplinary research
UWB supports interdisciplinary co-operation in the areas of environmental protection, sustainability, and justice. It co-operates with regional and international partners on research projects.
Regional co-operation
The university works closely with partners in the region to share know-how and implement measures aimed at the sustainable development of the city of Pilsen and its surroundings.
